Main Pyaar Kyun Kiya Reviews

Well, this was my first experience with a true "Bollywood" movie. I previously had seen Bend It Like Beckham, and the recently released Bride and Prejudice. I had been wanting to open myself up to new experiences and culture, and of hearing of a lot of the "Bollywood" movies having dancing and musicals, I was interested. I ended up seeing the movie twice, after seeing some of the trailers. I enjoyed the songs, such as "Just Chill" and "Wanna Spend The Rest Of My Life With You". The movie has very vivid colors, as well as great scenery and great music. I was very impressed and decided to see it a second time. It was a little longer than what most movies are, but they did have an intermission in the movie. I plan to get it on DVD, when it comes out, as well as possibly the soundtrack. If you are interested in seeing the movie, I would highly recommend it.

Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai Reviews

If you know how to suspend disbelief, you will enjoy this movie. It was my first Hindi movie and I saw it in India. It was GREAT!! I don't normally enjoy musicals, but this was an exception. The singing & dancing were terrific. The title song is a big hit in India. The movie didn't look much like the India I saw, but the cinematography was excellent, and the sound was Dolby Digital (Indians like their movies loud). I could follow the storyline even though I understand no Hindi. It helped that there was a smattering of english throughout the movie. I can't wait to see it again with subtitles. Apparently most Indian movies have the same plot, singing, and dancing, so if you have seen a lot of these movies, it may not excite you like it did me, but I thought it was a well made (slick comes to mind), well acted, and a well produced piece of "Bollywood". The producer introduced his son with this picture, and he has become the heartthrob of India. I'm not good at analyzing movies so I'll finish by just saying, I came out of the theater with a smile on my face, and a tune in my head. This movie was FUN!

Koi Mil Gaya Movie Reviews

This is a thoroughly entertaining movie (except for the melodramatic scenes in the end) and Hrithik shines in the role of a mentally challenged boy. I have enjoyed the songs, the gravity-defying dances by Hrithik and how well Hrithik has captured the mannerisms of a mentally challenged boy. Some people might compare it to a range of Hollywood films, but let's just appreciate that a different sort of movie has been attempted and for goodness sake let's just enjoy it. This is a great family movie and a great treat presented by Rakesh Roshan.

Titanic Movie Reviews

I saw this movie opening day and it took my breath away. James Cameron's fictional story of Jack and Rose entwined with real life occurances was haunting and absolutely beautiful. He is an amazing director and writer that this movie would not have worked without him.

Kate Winslet was stunning as Rose and this movie belonged to her as you couldn't imagine anyone else playing this role.

Leonardo DiCaprio was really good as Jack and he should have had an an Oscar nomination for this role and the ever brilliant Billy Zane didn't disappoint in his role as Rose's fiance Cal. His portrayl of Cal was so evil that despite being an awful person, you couldn't help but feel sorry for him, especially when despite all his doings he loved Rose so much.

James Horner's music was just as haunting and he always lifts the movie he works on to the ultimate level.

Kathy Bates was equally impressive in a small role and provided quite a few of the laughs of the film.

Everything from the special effects, to the sets to the costumes were pure magic.

This would have to be one of the most wonderful films of the 20th Century and one that will never be forgotten.

Main Hoon Na Movie Reviews

The story was a fantasy, not plausible in any way - yet this movie was fun. This was the first time I'd seen an Indian film, at the urging of someone who has already seen it twice (she is a big Shah Rukh Khan fan). It's quite different in every way from the American films I've always seen, but very entertaining and had almost every type of movie one can imagine all rolled into one film: action, drama, romance, musical and comedy. Some of the acting was a bit "hammed up", but was still right for the material. The woman who played Lucky's mom was quite good. I liked the Matrix references and how it was done in an obvious way, more of a fun "hats off"(let's look like what they did in Matrix) instead of merely copying. Even though I speak English and no Hindi, I easily followed along with the story and had no problem with the subtitles. This was a long movie (3 hours), yet time flew. The end of the movie was touching with the exchange (don't want to spoil it) and loads of "real people" cast in the parts. At the very end the credits were fun, too, with the cast and crew holding up different signs with their names - if these people didn't have a great time doing this film, they fooled me! I'd say this film is good for most all ages. Even though there are loads of pretty girls, nothing seems too suggestive and seemed more in fun. I left feeling good and as if I had honestly been entertained. Good work!
